ENGLISH HERITAGE | DIRECT MAIL COPYWRITING

Everyone’s heard of the National Trust and has a vague idea that they look after stately homes.

But English Heritage?

So my concept and copywriting for this mailing pack was aimed at boosting awareness of the absolutely vital work they carry out in protecting our English heritage. And also at raising funds to enable them to continue doing their priceless conservation activities.

English Heritage actually cares for over 400 historic monuments dating back over six millennia - from Stonehenge to Hadrian’s wall, and includes palaces, houses, hill figures, grand medieval castles, abbeys, industrial sites, Roman forts, deserted medieval villages and even a Cold War bunker.

They’re also the organisation behind the famous London Blue Plaque scheme – which gave me a familiar route into the emotional appeal for this pack.

The concept was designed to highlight not just the highly skilled conservation work that English Heritage carry out. But also what would happen to many of our treasured buildings if English Heritage ran out of money or were no longer around.

It’s a powerful message, which sadly, we’ve seen come to fruition in some places in Britain.
